As Ear, Nose and Throat specialists, our doctors have trained extensively to manage the range of nasal and sinus conditions that both adults and children experience.
When air is breathed through the nose, it is filtered and humidified by the nose. These important functions can be significantly impaired by a deviated nasal septum, allergic or non-allergic, or sinusitis.
A blocked nose can affect a person ability to breathe normally and can increase the risk of snoring and sleep apnoea. In children it may be associated with other problems such as teeth grinding, bed wetting (enuresis) and abnormal dental development which may require braces if untreated.
Sinus infections or inflammation (sinusitis) may present with nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, facial discomfort or pain and sometimes even blocked ears
